Château Clerc Milon 1997 - Charming! Overall, I’m very happy with this wine and glad I own a few more bottles. This one needs decanting time, it really doesn’t open up for at least an hour. Overall balanced, a tad bit acidic and tannic, but not awful so. Classic dusty fruit, lead pencil, tobacco, barn, spice, all mixed with a vibrant red current and cherry note. Short to medium length finish. The finish certainly builds wit.The finish certainly builds with more air time and drinks very well at hour two.On the nose very classic Pauillac aromas of cassis and cigar box. some red fruits, some baking spice, not getting any green or unripe aromas. On the palate the wine has moderate acidity, a firm and very cabernet midpalate which lacks a bit of depth, a very nice transition into a moderately tannic finish

a big, open, mulled-fruit nose, with the likes of plasterine, earth, cigarette smoke, liquorice and other sweet shop products. Flabby cherry. A little leathery tannin.
Some stewed red berry fruit on the nose: raspberry, loganberry - as well as clove, orange peel, Campari and some sweetish oak.
Rather light bodied with refreshing structure, mid-intense red berry fruit and herbs.

Lots of different kinds of berries, menthol, some spice cake, anise and bacon. Concentrated, big, rich and ripe, it offers a very spicy palate with some licorice and cumin seed coming through,medium level of velvety tannins, lively acidity.

It has that smell of cinnamon, chocolate and fresh fruit that of a peach but not as strong compare to its taste, medium in tannins. It has the characteristic of a Bordeaux wine,- Full and yes i can say its very oaky.

The most distinguishing character of this wine is that lychee aroma, on top with blackcurrant which is evident to most of the wines and black and blueberry, after a few minutes a chocolate , leather , and oak taste . The tanins are medium light. I have no complain .

Hope I’m not over reacting on this but margaux are famous for their strong aroma and I call it Divine Perfume of Margaux. A dark deep red color, the taste is heavy but it has a long lasting taste.There’s a kick in its taste. This is the second wine of third growth. It was a pleasure to drink.

You will love this wine ! Its my favorite. This 3 grapes I heard is a classic mix of grapes done in southern France, Robert Parker give it 93 points .Its very tasty in all aspect , fruity aromas of almost all the berries are in it , including the chocolate , almond . Oak and sugarcane aroma and a very moderate tannins which makes it perfect for all kinds of gathering.

A bit thick but smooth soft tannins for me , plum and oak smell , there is a strength in sourness some people might like . It has an almond after taste. After an hour a toffee smell will reveal.
